Member@Cane751: While we can't tag "male" for the lack of the heart shape, the heart shape's presence is feminine, and permits the female tag.

MemberThe black patch also makes this a cosplay pikachu, available only as a female.
Furrin Gok
MemberOutside of a costume, we can't say that. The heart is like long eyelashes: It's a feminine trait that, in ambiguous cases, can be used to call it female.

Former StaffUse ambiguous_gender for both.
breaking bedrock
MemberNot the best analogy and it leans in favor of referring to both as ambiguous which I disagree with.
Long eyelashes do denote femininity, or "girliness", but don't inherently equate a character to being female.
Both men and women can have long eyelashes; HOWEVER, the heart-shaped tail of a pikachu is a trait biologically unique to the females of the species. A better analogy would be the visual difference between male and female peacocks.
I also strongly disagree with the reason given in the tags history about "no dimorphism" since that would mean to go back and change the tags of posts that don't include genitalia(ergo safe and questionable posts) or breasts(possible herm or dickgirl would then have to be considered for said posts).
While I disagree, I'll go with it for now. That said, I feel like tagging genders shouldn't be as messy and inconsistent as it currently is.
