okay, at a risk of being labelled a wowfag here. The beast's name is red, meaning that its hostile. meaning that the paladin is being attacked by an enemy.

its actually an enemy hunter's pet. If you look at the combat log, it uses intimidations so it is a pet

You know some Paladin moves share tooltips with Priest moves, right?

Holy Shock = Holy Fire
Cleanse = Renew
Divine Focus = Heal
Lay on Hands = Levitate
Flash of Light = Flash Heal etc'
