Either that's the smallest pokeball I've ever seen, or that's the largest Pikachu I've ever seen.

In the show pokeballs could actually get smaller/bigger by hitting the button on the front... At least that is what I was lead to believe. I think at one point Gary or some other character wore a pokeball connected to a chian around his neck. And when they are attached to Ash's belt they are not the larger size because that would be funny looking... I may be wrong... It was many years ago after all.

Well, pikachu is a mouse pokemon; making it a mammal

that is a giant pikachu because pokeballs only grow/shrink about an inch or 2

if you remember pokemon come in different sizes gary had a krabby that was like 3 times the size of ashes krabby

Platypus don't even have nipples, they just secrete milk through their skin.
