    It works better in text. Patrick never actually says "Sparta," so you'll never get that last panel/post correct in a simple video edit.

    Also it being a 4chan thread gives it its own sort of meta-context, as if Patrick and the 300 characters are actually speaking directly to each other. In the videos too much of each setting is made apparent, particularly in the the 300 segments due to the scene cuts and camera panning. That makes it more apparent that the characters are in separate contexts and the joke less unified.
