Lance Armstrong
JanitorAt least 10 Ultra balls. Maybe some Timer balls.
Bongani
MemberIn other worlds they would be called Elder Gods. Ancients. Eldrazi.
Zreig
MemberThey're basically ELDRITCH BEASTS from another universe, people are pretty sure that they're not even pokemon at all.
Melvin Ishtar
MemberJust throwing out a crazy theory here, what if the ultra beasts come from the future?
Ryuzaki Tritium
MemberOh lovely so they're actually the Pillar Men
fucking great
Bongani
MemberThe Pillar Men at least have been on Earth so long they've naturalised, if they weren't already from it. The UBs belong to colours out of space.
Furrin Gok
MemberMaybe we can't catch them because "Ultra Beasts" aren't Pokemon, but some other sort of creature.
Bongani
MemberThere's a very small list of what they could be.
>Precursors to humanity
>Cosmic horrors assuming a form we can comprehend
>Outright aliens
>Eldritch entities that do not adhere to mortal concepts (think angels or demons)
SuperScum
MemberThey're probably going to be boss monsters that can't be captured. Maybe even involving having to fight them with 2+ of your pokemon at the same time.
At least I hope so, I've been waiting for something like that in pokemon games for over a decade.
Furrin Gok
MemberDeoxys are outright aliens, so there would have to be more than just that.
Bongani
MemberNot necessarily. Consider the concept of what is known by TVTropes as Super Weight.
Humans in the Pokémon universe are Weight 0 (baseline human), 1 (above-average human) tops. Most of the regular Pokémon average between 1 (Rattata, Pidove) and 3 (pseudolegendaries and any elemental Poke). Legendaries (absent Arceus at 7 and Giratina at 6) are 3 or 4 (can affect a fairly large area with some effort); Deoxys is a 4 if we take Episode Delta into account. The UBs are heavily implied to be weight 5 (can affect the entire world with some effort), possibly 6 (borderline Godlike).
Once the weight gets above 4, you go from just being "supernaturally strong, but able to do what a normal person with that kind of ability could do" to "Potentially fold, spindle, and mutilate the world or reality". The implications given us are that the UBs are beyond anything any Pokémon not named Arceus or Giratina - a physical god and a borderline physical god - can pull off.
SuperScum
MemberWelp...
Looks like I'm just gonna have to keep hoping and waiting, because they turned out to be just spoopy alternate dimension pokemon.
Rad Dudesman
BlockedWe did get uncatchable boss Pokemon though, in the form of Totem Pokemon.
Oracle of Pelor
MemberDoes that mean an Occultist and a Houndmaster could defeat an Ultra Beast
Oracle of Pelor
MemberAlso you get special Beast Balls to catch these in post game btw
Turbotowns
MemberStill takes a little effort though, but at least they don't heal, UNLIKE Primal Groudon.
theblazingtiger
MemberNah pheromosa has a really high catch rate with a beast ball... just chuck one of them before you even attack. Same with kartana.
Oracle of Pelor
MemberPrimal Groudon gets wreckt by a levitate pokemon though, like Mega Latios/Latias
