The Stinger is a single sharp thorn or hook like organ commonly found at the tip of the abdomen of many insect species or the tip of a scorpions tail and are responsible for ejecting venom into an enemy and less often prey.
In some insects like bees, the use of the stinger may lead to the insects death. Some non-arthropod species including some species of mammals may also possess similar structures that may also be referred as stingers.
