Scorpio, the Scorpion, is the eighth sign of the Western Zodiac. In Greek mythology, Orion was a man who boasted that he would hunt every beast on earth, perhaps to impress the virgin huntress Artemis, the goddess of the hunt. Her twin brother, Apollo angrily sent a scorpion to do battle with Orion. Depending on story, the scorpion either stung and killed Orion or chased him into the ocean where Apollo fooled Artemis into shooting him in the head with one of her arrows.
