Cerberus is a supporting character from the video game Hades. He is a massive three-headed dog charged with guarding the gates of the Underworld to prevent the dead from escaping. He is a magnificent beast, companion of Hades and Zagreus.

Cerberus is a formidable, three-headed guard dog depicted as a large and imposing creature, towering over many tall characters, including Hades. He possesses bright red fur, and each of his heads features a distinct green nose and a salivating tongue with an orange-to-yellow gradient. This unique coloration may suggest the presence of acid or lava, further emphasizing of docile Cerberus's intimidating nature.

Cerberus serves as the penultimate boss of the game within the 4th Region: The Temple of Styx. Unlike all the other boss, Cerberus cannot be damaged, nor will attempt to harm Zagreus. He merely block the gates leading to the exit. In order to get Cerberus to stand aside, he must be bribed with a bag containing his favorite food: Satyr Snacks, which are located in one of 5 Satyr Tunnels in the Temple.

Cerberus's heads are named from left to right Alpha, Beta, and Gamma. They each have different personalities. Alpha likes being pet by Zagreus. Beta enjoys napping, and Gamma plays with toys and stuff. Despite this all of them collectively are very loyal and emotionally attached to Zagreus and Hades, to the point that on Zagreus' first attempt to escape the underworld, Cerberus threw a massive tantrum that destroyed the lounge of the House of Hades.

Giving Cerberus nectar will reward Zagreus with his Old Spiked Collar, which increases your maximum life. To earn his favor, all you need to do his pet him at least 20 times.
