"Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (commonly shortened to Alice in Wonderland) is an 1865 novel written by English author Charles Lutwidge Dodgson under the pseudonym Lewis Carroll. It tells of a girl named Alice falling through a rabbit hole into a fantasy world populated by peculiar, anthropomorphic creatures. The tale plays with logic, giving the story lasting popularity with adults as well as with children. It is considered to be one of the best examples of the literary nonsense genre. Its narrative course and structure, characters and imagery have been enormously influential in both popular culture and literature, especially in the fantasy genre." (Wikipedia)
Since the original novel is in the public domain, there have been numerous adaptations of the source material, such as Disney's famous 1951 animated film Alice in Wonderland and its 2010 live-action re-imagining. However, you'll have to manually tag any other copyrights for specific versions of Alice yourself as a result; if you mean either of the Disney versions, you'll have to add _(1951) for the animated classic, or _(2010) for the live-action/CGI version. We are not going to implicate alice_in_wonderland to any other copyright tag.
This tag can also be used to refer to its 1871 sequel Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There (commonly shortened to Through the Looking-Glass).
