Instant loss 2koma is an image sequence or comic with two (or three occasionally) panels or poses, which depicts a character "instantly losing". The first frame will suggest that the character will "be victorious", with the second or third frame showing them losing instantly.

Frequently, instant loss 2koma involves a character challenging or rejecting an unseen second character, or possibly in a dominant pose above the viewer or unseen character; this is followed up by a second or third part where they are shown physically beaten, defeated, or in a submissive/nonconsenting position while having sex with the previously unseen character. When the "instant loss" involves sex, this typically involves a character in the first panel with standoffish body language (crossed arms, etc.), insulting, belittling, or mocking the viewer or unseen character, followed by the character in a mating press position from a rear view.

This format can apply to a wide variety of situations, and be shown in various ways; it may be subverted, with the "overconfident" character from the first panel emerging victorious as they expected, or turning the tables on the other character, or even enjoying their "loss".
