A royal title for males, commonly reserved for the son of a king and/or queen, a male monarch or noble of (nominally) lower rank than a king, or less commonly, the husband of a princess. Princes are far less common in pop culture than princesses, but are still a frequent part of historical settings and fantasy/fairy tale stories.

As with other royalty, princes are usually drawn wearing a crown. Unlike kings, prince characters are uniformly depicted as boys or young men, they are are usually dressed in more practical clothing rather than kings, although ornate armour isn't uncommon, and capes, especially fur-lined capes, are popular; more modern princely outfits include military style jackets, sometimes worn with epaulettes or a cape.
