Also known as a Spanish Donkey, a wooden horse is a torture device consisting of a sharp edged triangle with one point facing upwards. The victim is forced to sit on the point with their legs on both sides, crushing their crotch against the point with their own body weight. Often, more weights and/or restraints are added to the victim's legs to add to their pain and restrict movement. Though it was invented to be painful rather than fatal, prolonged torture can cause permanent damage to the victim, such as genital mutilation, fracturing the pelvis, or splitting the perineum, the last of which would definitely result in death.

Despite the name, it isn't necessarily made out of wood.
