body size growth

A character is shown growing in height and overall body size, usually in a very short amount of time — the opposite of shrinking. A growing character may have a "small" growth spurt, or they may reach macro proportions. Body size growth may be shown in stages, occurring unevenly (individual body parts growing in size until the character's entire body is at a new, larger size), or, most commonly, all at once. This growth in size may be shown explicitly through an animation, comic, or image sequence, but in many cases, scenes of body size growth depict the immediate aftermath of the character's growth rather than the growth itself.
Common visuals in body size growth include the character wearing torn, undersized clothing, bursting out of their clothes, filling an entire room (and possibly being stuck inside of it, at least temporarily), and/or causing property damage while growing, such as causing cracks or holes in the ceiling or walls around them, or even destroying the entire building around them. Characters may grow through magic (curses, spells, and potions) or science (chemicals and growth rays), game mechanics (e.g. a Pokémon evolving, or a character leveling up), through some other exotic method (e.g. growth from eating), or their size transformation may go completely unexplained.
Other kink concepts seen in body size growth
- expansion – Parts of a character's body often expand to be larger than what would proportionally match their increased body size.
- muscle growth - The buildup of a character's muscles may cause their bodies to grow, or they would grow more than the rest of the body as a whole.
Causes and triggers
The following is a list of common causes and growth triggers, but in no way do they HAVE to be tagged along with the body size growth. Sometimes it just happens because the character "feels like it" (i.e. sizeshifting).
- accident - A character just happens to spill jumbo gro or whatever on themselves, hijinks ensue.
- growth potion - A character consuming a potion to change size.
- growth ray - Or shrink ray, despite the name
- inflation
- magic - A character using magic to change size.
- mutation/corruption - Visible transformation and twisting of a character to become different. Note that corruption is usually depicted as more sexual in tone.
- stuffing/vore – A character growing in size from consuming food, beverages, or other characters, this may coincide with rapid digestion.
- species transformation – A character may grow in size while transforming into a larger creature; size growth is often seen in characters transforming into dragons or werewolves.
- weightlifting (this could also imply furry logic, definitely implies muscle growth)
Elements of body size growth
Clothing
- damaged clothing
- torn clothing
- discarded clothing
- tearing clothing/tearing own clothing
- straining buttons
- wardrobe malfunction
Growth-related property damage
- damaged building
- cracks
- damaged ceiling

- damaged wall
- damaged ground (note: to be used when the character's growth is causing damage outside as opposed to inside, or on otherwise natural, non-manmade terrain)
Not to be confused with...
- Growth by itself describes the growth of new body parts the character did not previously have such as a tail or breasts
- Expansion - While this often occurs alongside body size growth, expansion alone does not describe body size growth.
- Inflation - Again, while this often occurs alongside body size growth and is even a method, it doesn't describe it on its own.
