- european_robin - It can be distinguished from a European robin primarily from the orientation of the red / orange chest feathers. The color of the chest feathers does not typically extend into the neck or facial area for American robins. European robins also tend to have their coloration localized to the upper body, and other colors such as tans, and greys fill in the belly, back, wings, and tail feathers.
