Primonyr likes to associate Bastet with joy, fertility, protection of the household and agricultural produce. This due to kittens being playful (joy), cats having large litters (fertility), fearlessly fighting snakes, which Egyptians were scared of (household protection) and hunting rodents feeding on food reserves (agricultural produce protection).
