crop (anatomy)
The crop is an internal organ located near the throat that temporarily stores food before it reaches the stomach. This muscular pouch acts as an extension of the esophagus in the digestive process; it does not assist in the digestion of food. The crop is found in most bird species, some dinosaurs, as well as invertebrate animals including gastropods, leeches, and insects.
This tag applies to images that feature the crop via an internal shot, or emphasize it with bulges. These images typically involve vore artwork (primarily oral vore) featuring the aformentioned species.
