Russian rifle from the Kalashnikov platform chambered for the 7.62x39mm calibre. It is a successor to the AK-47 with a stamped instead of milled receiver, with other changes being made to the barrel, gas block, bolt carrier assembly, stock, recoil assembly, return spring assembly, trigger assembly, and the sights.
