bottom heavy
Bottom Heavy describes a range of body types where the character's lower half is notably larger than their upper body, the difference in proportion can merely be "physically improbable" by real life standards, but is more often very exaggerated.
Important
- Avoid using this tag for...
- ...a character that has normal proportions with wide hips and/or a big butt
- ...characters who merely have a small chest (flat chest/small breasts) and wide hips
- ...posts where a character's apparent proportions are clearly the result of foreshortened perspective
Bottom heavy can be divided into two main categories:
post #2293522 post #3871987 post #3137131 post #3204186
Characters with normal or skinny upper bodies, paired with huge thighs or hyper thighs, huge hips or hyper hips and a huge butt or hyper butt. Female or gynomorph bottom heavy characters of this type will often have small breasts, however, they may have relatively large breasts, that do not overshadow their huge or hyper lower attributes. These characters may also have long bodies or long necks, further exaggerating their figure.

The far more cartoonish variation of bottom heavy figures - defined by a large lower body that may have a hyper belly, and/or a combined waist/belly/hips area, sometimes with an all over "tear drop" shape to the entire body. These characters will often have either exaggeratedly thin legs, short, stubby thick legs, or entirely non-anthropomorphic legs. Anthro Kangaroos, Semi anthro characters in general, especially bipedal toony dragons, and Pokemon such as Goodra will often have this type of "bottom heaviness".
Bottom Heavy Vs Pear-Shaped Figure
These tags can easily be confused with one another...

While pear-shaped figure inherently describes a body type with a larger lower half, and bottom heavy characters may sometimes have a pear-like shape - "pear-shaped figure" describes a character with a generally more proportionate body, the difference between the character's upper body (with narrow shoulders and often small bust/chest), and lower body (broad midsection, wide hips/thick thighs) is more subtle than a bottom heavy character.
