A type of pillory or stocks where the wrists are locked in front of the bound person. It may consist of a board with a large hole for the neck and two smaller holes for the wrists, or a steel bar that forms a neck collar and two wrist cuffs. It is not usually fastened to the ground like stocks are; it may be possible for the person wearing it to stand and walk. A similar restraint with wrists on the sides of the character's head is yoke_(restraint).
