rope bridge
A simple suspension bridge which uses rope tied to load bearing pillars at either end to suspend a series of wooden planks, or a wooden platform between two points, in some cases, a rope bridge may be made entirely of rope, with rope rungs to walk on. Rope bridges are exclusively used by foot traffic, as they cannot hold the weight of a vehicle. Rope bridges are often used to span gorges, canyons, and rivers, especially in hilly and mountainous terrain.
Rope bridges are usually seen in very remote areas, and are a perennial feature in media for characters exploring or travelling in jungles or forests.
