Introduced in Generation IX (Pokémon Scarlet and Violet), Paradox Pokémon are a group of Pokémon who appear to be past (Scarlet only) and future (Violet only) relatives of contemporary Pokémon. They were brought to the present day from their respective time periods with a time machine built by Professor Sada (Scarlet)/Professor Turo (Violet).

Though they appear to be alternate forms of existing Pokémon, they are considered to be distinct Pokémon within the Pokédex and should not be tagged as the species of their present-day relative.
