Belka is one of the main female characters of the first Russian full-length computer-animated film in 3D format «Belka and Strelka» or «Space Dogs».

The Belka's breed is not mentioned. Before flying into space, she worked in the circus. The coat is smooth, the color is white, the nose is black and blue eyes. Slim and flexible. At the tips of the ears there are "tassels", like an ordinary squirrel (which is probably why it got its name).

The prototype of the character is the real-life mongrel dog Belka, which, together with another dog Strelka, became the first living creature to safely return to Earth after a long orbital flight for those times.
