Power armor minus the armor.
An exosuit (also known as exoframe or powered exoskeleton) is a wearable machine that enhances the physical performance of the wearer as well as providing other features.
It consist of an exoskeletal frame with powered joints (usually via servos or hydraulics) that is strapped to or clamped on the wearer's body and is hooked up to a portable power source, usually as a backpack. In more technologically advanced science fiction settings exosuits comes in the form of high-tech skinsuits that provides the same performance enhancing features but is less bulky thanks to some form of advanced miniaturization tech and nanotechnology such as artificial muscle fiber bundles.
All of these features combined enables the wearer to lift heavier objects, run faster, jump higher, lasts longer and various feats of physical prowess that a regular person wouldn't be able to achieve on their own. Being (mostly) unarmored also means more maneuverability and mobility at the cost of protection and survivability in combat situations. As such these suits are most often found being used by a workforce in an industrial setting.
Exosuits are also known as exoskeletons though it shouldn't be tagged as such as that tag refers to the naturally occuring armor plates of an arthropod.
