A specific kind of halo that, rather than appearing as a ring over a character's head, encircles the character's head from behind.
They frequently appear to face the viewer regardless of the character's orientation, though this is not a hard requirement.

Not to be confused with areola, which is the discolored skin around a character's nipples.
