Wingless furred dragon-kangaroo hybrid (and his included firefly insect pet Flitta) designed by Hioshiru in 2013 as part of an art trade with DeviantArt user The-F0X, who further refined the design and sold them a year later to another artist named SkreeDecree/Hamsterly. Now owned by NeonWabbit permanently since 2019, who purchased the character from the latter artist in his quest to repurchase every character sold or traded away by his friend, the aforementioned The-F0X.

As per a reference sheet The-F0X made, he has an interest in climbing trees, which NeonWabbit later evolved into his further love of adventure and all things flying (avians, aircraft, winged insects, etc.). In most canons, he is a nerd with an office job, usually in the I.T., software/game development, or graphics department, where he is close friends with his general manager, Ink, and Ink's scientist girlfriend Biscuit.

Since coming into NeonWabbit's possession, Flye has also been given a girlfriend (the previously homeless mink-mink harpy character Frie that he once tripped over on the way to work, with both characters' names forming the pun/wordplay on "flying free" as "Flye 'n' Frie"), plus an optional humanoid form to match up with her non-chibi depictions, the ability to breath fire and smoke (ranging from tiny flames to full hyper beams) like a regular dragon, and what was thought to be his furry blue tail has now been retconned to be dragon scales with spines jutting out (in the case of earlier depictions where the tail has a fluffy look). His mother is the kangaroo character Greyl, a fact inspired by his brown fur, general design similarities to a kangaroo, ability to balance on his tail, and because he'd look cute in a pouch. His father is the royal blue dragon character, Falkon, who is the current king of the Isle of islands in which Flye lives. In future canons, Flye's children are the mink-mink dragon characters Frye and Lilfrie.

Notes for tagging:

• A Vtuber version of the character for NeonWabbit's Argie Bee Plays series is NOT canonically this character, but a separate character with their own lore, known as Vtuber Flye. However, as they share the same sort of name and design, please continue to tag art of both Flye and Vtuber Flye with the flye tag, and in case of the latter, also use the vtuber tag.

• Flye only has a humanoid and a feral form. If you believe an image of him tagged as feral counts as anthro, please do not remove the feral tag, but add the supplemental semi-anthro tag instead.

(There is no true anthro form of Flye, because that would have proportions exactly matching his humanoid form but just with his feral form's head pasted on, and that would look really weird. Nobody has managed to make it work.)
