A character verbally threatening to commit physical violence or cause bodily harm to the viewer or another character.

Some examples of direct threats of violence: "I'll kick your ass", "I'm going to bite you", "I'm gonna break your neck", "I'll claw you to pieces!"

• Threat of violence can be combined with other subcategories of threat, for example:
• threatening with weapon, where the character verbally describes what they will do with the weapon — e.g. "I'm going to stab you" while holding a knife to their target
• death threat, when threatening to cause specifically fatal violence
