april (month)
April is the fourth month of the Julian and Gregorian calendars, lasting for 30 days. In the Northern Hemisphere, April is the first full month of spring, and in the Southern Hemisphere, the first full month of autumn. It is uncertain what the month is named after, but it is commonly believed to be derived from the Latin verb aperire, "to open", referring to being the month when trees and flowers begin to "open" up.
April's birthstone is the diamond. April's flowers are the common daisy (Bellis perennis) and the sweet pea (Lathyrus odoratus). In regards to the western zodiac, April is under the sign of Aries until the 19th, when the sign of Taurus begins.
Note: This should only be tagged when a monthly calendar is in the picture or when the picture is visibly April-themed. It should not be tagged for a themed art month (such as Inktober) or the month a post was originally created.
