october (month)
October is the tenth month of the Julian and Gregorian calendars, lasting for 31 days. In the Northern Hemisphere, October is the the first full month of autumn, and in the Southern Hemisphere, the first full month of spring. It is named after the Latin numeral octo, meaning "eight", as the month was originally the eighth month of the Julian calendar.
October's birthstones are the tourmaline and the opal. October's flowers are the true marigolds (Calendula). In regards to the western zodiac, October is under the sign of Libra until the 22nd, when the sign of Scorpio begins.
Note: This should only be tagged when a monthly calendar is in the picture or when the picture is visibly October-themed. It should not be tagged for a themed art month (such as Inktober) or the month a post was originally created.
