npc behavior
When a character acts like a Non Player Character, behaving more like a tool or prop in a game or story for someone else.
Characters engaging in npc behavior may:
- Stop using a name, or use a title in place of one.
- Favor canned or pre-scripted phrases over normal speech, or be incapable of speech outside of them entirely.
- Be restricted to standing in one place or not leaving a designated area or patrol path.
- Rigidly follow a specific role like a shopkeeper, quest giver, or love interest.
- Stop reacting to things not covered by gameplay_mechanics or their script.
- Interact with gameplay_mechanics in a way differently from a player, such as being unable to level, or use adventuring classes.
