Character: tokiko (touhou)
An insignificant youkai portrayed in the very first chapter of Touhou Project novel Touhou Kourindou ~ Curiosities of Lotus Asia, who has a set of three wings between her back and her head, along with what appears to be two horns. Tokiko is introduced as being attacked and mugged by series protagonist Hakurei Reimu. She approaches Kourindou, the eponymous store run by one of the only male Touhou characters, to demand her books back from Hakurei Reimu and Kirisame Marisa. Tokiko later made a background appearance in Forbidden Scrollery.
She is likened to a Japanese crested ibis, a bird whose status as an endangered species is discussed immediately after Tokiko disappears in Curiosities of Lotus Asia, due to her red and white color scheme, wings, and a visible crest existing along the back of her head. While technically unnamed, the character is simultaneously known as "a book-reading youkai" (from her only known character trait) and "Tokiko" (from "toki", Japanese crested ibis + "ko", diminutive name ending/child)
