Character: uncle ruckus
Reverend Father Uncle Ruckus, No Relation, aka, Uncle Ruckus, No Relation, aka Uncle Ruckus, or just Ruckus is the primary antagonist of The Boondocks animated series.
Uncle Ruckus is an overweight, foolish, and clumsy African American male who is most frequently seen wearing beige pants, busted old brown shoes, and a faded red jacket. He also has a large glass eye on the. Despite being easily the darkest character on the show amongst many other African American characters (described as blacker than the Ace of Spades and 102% African with a 2% margin or error), Ruckus insists that he is a White Caucasian and that he suffers from an extremely rare skin condition called Re-Vitiligo (The opposite of what Michael Jackson had), which darkens his skin. He is also, easily the most cartoonishly racist character in the show and the highest profile white supremacist.
It is revealed his hatred of black people comes from his black adopted (in reality biological) hopelessly deluded and damaged mother who taught him white history and told Ruckus a skewed, bigoted and lopsided history of achievements of black people and told him he was white to boost his self-esteem. As well as being subjected to constant physical abuse at the literal hands of his father.
Ruckus is meant to be a parody and satire of other Uncle Tom-esque figures such as Uncle Remus from Song of the South, as well Amos Rucker, a former slave veteran of the Confederate States of America. He inconsistently proclaims to be white despite worshiping other white people as though they are superior to himself along with characters who are half-white such as Jasmine Dubois. He also works about 47 odd jobs throughout the week, all of which take the form of grunt work and manual labor that involves submitting to white superiors.
He is voiced by Gary Anthony Williams.
