Superflat is a postmodern art movement that originated in Japan in the early 2000s, coined by artist Takashi Murakami. Superflat is inspired by manga and anime, particularly the visual aesthetics present in them and in other Japanese pop culture, as well as being inspired by Japanese consumerism. Superflat aims to blur or "flatten" the line between high and low art.

Superflat has been embraced by American artists, with artists in southern Florida creating their own spin on the genre, SoFlo Superflat. Murakami also designed the album cover for Kanye West's Graduation.
