Infested Kerrigan, better known as The Queen of Blades and formerly known as Sarah Kerrigan is the main antagonist of Starcraft Episode 2 and 3, Starcraft Brood War, and Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty. She is the villain protagonist/anti-hero of Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm.

Kerrigan is a former Ghost Operative infected with the Zerg Infestation Virus, transforming her into a Terran/Zerg Hybrid. After her initial transformation, Kerrigan has the appearance of a human woman with sickly green skin and glowing yellow eyes. Her body has been covered in an insectile Zerg Carapace which offers protection from physical damage and transforms her fingers into powerful claws. Her hair has been replaced with a series of long segmented quills. Additionally, her heal bones protrude like a pair of high-heels and she has large skeletal like wings which she can use to increase her reach and fly.

The Queen of Blades was originally an agent of The Overmind, ruler of the Zerg. While she had more freewill and agency compared to one of the Overmind's Cerebrates, she was still incredibly loyal to her creator following the completion of her infestation, immediately attacking her former lover Jim Raynor and driving him from the Zerg home world of Char. As the series progresses, Kerrigan grows both in terms of psychic power and in terms of cunning. Following the death of the Overmind, she usurps his position as ruler of the Zerg and manipulates various other characters and groups in order to maintain her status as most powerful being in the galaxy.

In the original Starcraft, Kerrigan attack with powerful melee strikes with her claws. She retains the ability to make herself invisible, with a few additional abilities liker her own version of the protoss psionic storm, the Zerg Queen's Ensnare ability, and consumption.

Through Starcraft 2, her power only increases as she is introduced with a powerful ranged attack and the ability to one-shot any unit.
