Black coded are non-human character(s) that resonate as a Black or African American person. They are not technically 'Black', but their nuance and voice resembles with both. Common characteristics such as African hairstyles, darker fur color, their clothing/dress, culture or the way they speak. Even looking at the character alone could naturally tell what they are depicted as.

HOWEVER, they DO NOT necessarily need to have these type of characteristics to give off Black or African American nuance. It is up to the creator on how they want them to portray.
