Lae'zel of Crèche K'liir, Epthet: The Githyanki Warrior is one of the 7 origin characters in Baldur's Gate 3.

She is a female Githyanki, an extradimensional race from the Astral Plane and a soldier serving under the command of her undying Lich Queen Vlaakith. Her race was once enslaved by the Mind Flayers due to their natural aptitude for Psionic Potential. But after liberating themselves, her people swore to exterminate every Illithid in every dimension at any cost, along with anyone who gets in their way. During the inciting incident, Lae'zel was tasked with killing a Mind Flayer and bringing its head to her queen. While infiltrating the Nautiloid Warship, she was however captured and instead infested with an Illithid Tadpole Parasite.

By default, Lae'zel is a fighter with the soldier background and as such is proficient in all weapons, armor, and shields but has limited magical power from her racial features.

Lae'zel has yellowish-green skin, with black accents below her ochre eyes, cheeks and neck. Her scars, most prominent of all one that runs from her nose to her chin, give her the mean look of a seasoned warrior. Black bumpy mottles adorn her face on her cheeks, and like all githyanki, she has a flattened nose and long and pointed ears, with ridges protruding on the back edges. Her hair, kept shoulder-length, is auburn and straight, with a few adorned silver braids running along the side of her head and a small bun on the back. Though shorter than the rest of the companions, and with a wiry, athletic frame, she stands proud and intimidating.

Lae'zel is extremely abrasive, arrogant, and rude to just about everyone she meet in the game. This is due to the fact that she is proud of her race and believes that everyone outside of the Astral Plane is objectively inferior to her and not worthy of her time or respect. Due to her brutal upbringing, she tends to crave violence and blood shed, caring very little for which side she is on to achieve that, as long as it is not with the Mind Flayers.
