Mounting is used for any doggystyle or related sex position in which the receiving character is down on all fours or a related posture, and the penetrating character lays their body trunk on their partners' back—or, if there is a significant size difference, parallel to the ground—rather than holding their body erect. The penetrator may also be on all fours; or holding onto the receiver. The receiver may be pinned by the penetrator, if they are not supporting their body off the surface below with their limbs.
