camo
Patterns that are designed to make whatever they're on more difficult to see, often used on clothing and military hardware.
This is usually accomplished by incorporating images of natural elements (e.g. leaves, sticks) and/or irregularly-shaped blotches of color that mimic those found in a particular environment, such as desert, forest, jungle, etc.
Other forms of camouflage utilize disruptive patterns to foil the ability to distinguish a single entity from a larger group, or to determine distance, speed, or direction. The striped coats of zebras have been described as form of such dazzle camouflage.
Not to be confused with cameo.
