Topic: Music?

I listen to a lot of different genres so I can't really say there's one specific style I tend to stick to, but as of recently I've been listening to a lot of lofi, chillhop, and breakcore

I'm a huge metalhead, but I like most genres of music. My favorite bands are Gojira, Tool, Behemoth, Nine Inch Nails, Radiohead, and Rush

I'm a pretty big Daft Punk fan myself, and in general a big French house fan. Stuff like jungle, DnB, Jpop, or vaporwave are also pretty good imo

I've been listening to the album Around the Fur by Deftones. This entire album feels like its made by a charismatic serial killer who gets laid and stoned alot which is unsettling but I love the rhythm and vocals. I'm really terrible at deciphering the meaning behind song lyrics so I'd really like to get someone else's opinion on the mood of the songs, and to tell me the meaning of MX. Like it doesn't make sense to me why someone would get bored of a girl they were into and "shove her over railing" (implying murder) when she wants to leave? Like at that point in a relationship the desire to split and find new people seems mutual so why not leave in peace? Idunno, maybe it would only make sense to a serial killer unless I'm grossly misunderstanding the meaning of the lyrics. Maybe "shove her over railing" is implying some public sexual act? Maybe its a double entendre and it means both? I don't know and I would really like a second opinion.

@Coleoptrata... I will check it, sounds interesting.

I believe there is not enough music in French around... so a little contribution:

"La Mer - Iglesias version".

The inspiration, was this great final scene from the American-British movie "Tinker Taylor Soldier Spy".

Games are one of the things that give opportunity to many talented musicians, and the new technology of synthetic music, a broad market to continue to develop. And it is good music.

Hylics 2's soundtrack been drawing me in like a whirlpool of smooth vibes, Dood ╹‿╹)~★

I don't know much of this kind of music... so I showed it to one of my cousins, and he says that a lot of young people like "Hylics", people that are into indie games like Yume Nikki, Ib, Omori, The Gray Garden, etcetera. They have a very unique ambiance and aesthetics, that transpire like you were in a dream... associeted with some very strange to me graphic art... in which horns (or a dwindling moon) appear very often.

Very strange stuff to me, but very popular among intelligent young people nowadays.

Since I'm on this site I'm kind of a loser. And since I'm kinda of a loser I don't listen to pop music. I prefer metal. From Judas Priest to Saxon to Primal Fear etc. But I kinda like the acapella group Van Canto too, which is where my name comes from

Thousand Knives by Ryuichi Sakamoto from Thousand Knives of Ryuichi Sakamoto

Ryuichi Sakamoto is a Japanese composer known for membership in an influential synthpop band Yellow Magic Orchestra and movie scores such as The Revenant.
His debut album starts with the splendidly named "Thousand Knives" track, the beginning of which might be somewhat jarring to listeners with modern sensibilities since it's about a minute and a half of early electronic experimentation, namely some vocoder fuckery. Then, it changes to a bubbly melody and some synth work before suddenly turning into a playful composition with ups and downs, jazz influences, marimba (I think?), Eastern motives, and electric guitar. So yeah, I think it's pretty fun!

I listen to so much Power Metal...

Power Metal
Nintendocore and stuff that incorporates chiptune with heavy metal
Molodic Death Metal
other stuff

In case no one has mentioned him before, check out the music of Amon Tobin. Almost unclassifiable instrumentals.

people who say they "listen to everything" are absolutely floored when they see me listening to the harshest densest noise albums you've ever heard immediately followed by the iCarly theme

in all seriousness though, when it comes to music i tend to lean more toward post-rock, ambient, drone, and generally more "experimental" acts, if you will - but i listen to a lot of stuff. a few names that come to mind are swans, gy!be, heaven's emperor, dälek, cardiacs, hanatarashi, the gerogerigegege, black midi, yabujin... stuff like that. music is my biggest passion full stop and i WILL talk your ear off about it for as long as i can

I usually listen to music from my music playlist, which is quite diverse. From calm ambient accents where you can relax, through such cheerful songs, to total bangers that give you strong energy. I can post a link to the playlist here if anyone is interested. :)
