Wow. I noticed some, couldn't recognize some... <x'3 I'm gonna feel out of place when I say:
The 1975, Grouplove, JR JR, The Mowgli's, Generationals, Circa Survive, Walk The Moon, The Little Ones (etc.), uhh... And four singles... Hopeless Love, Philosophical (King No-One), Lines (SKIES), and We're Gonna Be Alright (The Runaway Club).
I do like uh... "Old rock" too.

can't really say this type of news surprises me much anymore given the state our world is in these days but damn, good thing you chose not to go.

It was a pain in the neck to navigate this site, because the English version doesn't seem to include the section that actually has music, and because Google Translate broke half the pages... But I finally made my way here:

https://www.gugak.go.kr/site/program/board/basicboard/list?boardtypeid=36&menuid=001003006001

There's some good stuff there. In particular I'd suggest taking a look at #48, but there are others I liked too.

hmmm... korean music can be pretty good. 42 sounds pretty nice...can't understand a word of it though. as for 48, it's nice and pleasant sounding, it'd be good for if you want some ambient background music playing.

i'll check out some of the other tracks listed there later. :) might have to share some of those tracks with my aunt as she may like them too.

This is really simple, but...

Courage the Cowardly Dog - The Last of the Starmakers

One of the better introductions to an episode of any animated show that I've seen, and the music definitely pulls its weight here.

I like that episode I think the intro to The tower of Dr. zalost is pretty cool too although not as sweet.

oh yes... lol i finally found it!

go back to page 14 of this thread. you know that audio track from Wild Arms that i had been looking everywhere for? i found it!

someone eventually necro'ed my comment on that youtube video a few days ago telling me which album it's from. it's track 17 of the Wild Arms Music the Best: Rocking Heart album.

and...oh my goodness... *facepalm* how did i miss the description, the album title in the bottom right corner there? i feel like a fool right now. -_- oh well, mystery solved at least.

Recently, I've gotten my hands on just about every single Imagine Dragons song. Will have to give those a listen to during my free time.

Then there's Utada Hikaru's entire discography as well. Only know her from those two songs in the Kingdom Hearts series, and I hear she's going to make a new song for Kingdom Hearts III.

God, the hype for KHIII is going to kill me!

might want to poke around the forums too as that's how i first found out about Symphony X and that one song by the rippingtons. (think i linked to it somewhere in this thread.)

and i just found this nice song too. well, music video but the song is good (a tad loud though so you may want to heed the volume warning before it begins).: 4/6 HELL TO YOUR DOORSTEP (animatic) by Ink Potts

oh and for something random. have you ever heard the song The Final Countdown? listen to that and compare it to Infinity Mijinion's stage theme from megaman x 6. ;) it's surprisingly similar.

Or if the downloads were album tagged with literally anything besides http://www.ocremix.org .....come on leave the protocols on the fuckin web, imagine that sticking out at you from a stack of physical spines making compulsive alphabetization even more nightmarish

keeping it somewhat thematic to covering classics; this if anything has got to be how it's done

oh; and sort of on opposite spectra tempo-wise but also this –
this is also how to make something several leagues better than the original

wow...that's quite good. nice remix or would that be a cover? and theres a lot of good music to be found among the "metal" genres. :)

edit: just noticed something awesome about this download manager i use, JDownloader. i went and copied the link for that video and it seems jdownloader letsyou download the audio, video, what i assume is the thumbnail pic, and even the description text all as separate files.

that's a heck of a lot more than i'd get from a random video download site where you copy/paste the link to download.

hmmm...video and audio require some FFMpeg package thing to be installed first...oh well. the description and thumbnail pics download fine regardless.

New faves for the week...

Cover implies they were trying to sound similar the original. That is an arrangement.

Meanwhile, I'll be replaying all of the other KH games and enjoying the fantastic music accompanying them. I'm currently on KHII.

My computer wakes me up by tuning into a particular station, and this song keeps playing. Pretty sure I'm adding it to my list of songs to get later.

Ghost - Square Hammer

Of the other newer songs with some staying power in my mind:

Red Sun Rising - Amnesia (without music video theatrics)
Avenged Sevenfold - The Stage

I was also recently introduced to this pretty interesting song/style/artist/video:

Tom Waits - Hell Broke Luce

Lastly, since that one ^ is laden with political messages (more up to listener interpretation), which is one of my jams, here's a song I discovered a while back that'll beat you over the head with its messages.

Otep - Smash the Control Machine

That's enough link-bombing for now.

so...last night i decided to pull out my ps2 copy of sonic heroes and try it out. ho-ly crap! that game SUCKS!

joystick controls for 3d games are SO much better nowadays. in fact, the controls in that game are so bad that ANY movement left or right while in "speed" formation makes the basically act like "wtf are you trying to do, user?" replaying that game would give anyone a new sense of appreciation for things like the side-step controls in newer games like unleashed.

between that and the music i'm left wondering: why did i ever like this game in the first place?

i had even forgotten that the special stages (chaos emeralds) were a race to actually CATCH each emerald until just before i lost one such stage.

edit (4 days later): not really music related (yet) but i just found out theres a season 2 of One Punch Man planned for 2017. ^.^

I've never heard a cello sound so much like an electric guitar before. Certainly does the original version justice.

they also take care of the drum sounds by tapping or pounding on the front/back of them too. pretty interesting to see what can be done with just that one instrument like that.

Look what I found.]

huh, that's pretty good.

anyone here evertry the snes game X-Caliber 2097 before? the album version of the game theme song is FAR better than what they used for the game: Welcome to My Mind

i'd link to the music video but i don't think theres a single upload of that anywhere on youtube that is even 240p or higher. crappy game but a great theme song.

Granted, the SNES did have limitations and few companies knew how to make it sound good.

Here are five that did.

extended tracks are great. and i just remembered something.

behold, the only game ever released with Konami's VRC7 sound generator integrated circuit and one of the best sounding nes games, Lagrange Point. Fighters Awaken. lol how's that for nes music? shame that tech was only used with that one game. it could've changed the audio of the nes greatly overall.

huh, i wonder if romhackers could make use of it when doing audio related romhacks.

it's almost an unfair comparison but uh... Guardian Legend's intro theme also on nes. they're both on the same console but as far as audio goes it's like comparing the audio of a nes game to a genesis/snes generation game.

Yeah, but "this" doesn't have a 13/16 time signature.

The VRC6 chip can still make some pretty good music, and is often the chip of choice for remixers.

Mega Man X3 - Toxic Seahorse (original) (8-bit)

Of course. Every console has variation in its music quality.

true, though not many consoles have a game stand out with quite so big a difference in quality when compared to other games on said console.

edit: O.O i never realized it till now but culex's theme is from final fantasy iv.

Native formats are better. Harder to get working and way more restrictive, but better.

I don't know... I've heard both extremely good and bloody terrible music on the majority of consoles. Example:
Bad SNES rock vs. Good SNES rock

I'll find more examples later, maybe. It's not so easy to find bad ones when I routinely delete them. Good ones, though, I have plenty.

ಠ_ಠ short audio loops like that are evil! i had to endure that crap almost every single dungeon and fight when playing through digital devil saga 2. just about anything that isn't a 5-10 second long loop beats short audio loops.

I myself listen to just about every genre of music except for classical, opera, and folk. My favorites tend to be various forms of EDM, VGM, and rock from the 90's and early 2000's. A solid quarter of all the memory space on my PC is dedicated just to music. As for examples, I could list a great many of my favorites with YouTube videos. I'll list like three for each major group in a section below for those curious while preventing it from cluttering my response.

Examples of My Music

And so on, you get the idea, I think.

vaporware: software or hardware that has been advertised but is not yet available to buy, either because it is only a concept or because it is still being written or designed.

i prefer things that are released or are, at the very least, in development currently.
