What the heck, let's cover both topics: #PMe621 and #IRCe621
'Not sure if this topic is meant for 'general' or 'e621 Tools and Applications.'
I've searched the forums for anything about IRC target servers, channels, or ports with no real success. I'm semi-paranoid about java applets so I use a Pidgin to do my IRC stuff. .. which brings me to the next issue: PM systems. I wanted to PM an admin with my inquiry for IRC info, but I couldn't find the 'PM' button on any admin profiles...not even my own member profile.

So if there was a PM function at one time, what happened to it? I realize that it could have been abused and taken down. I would argue in favor of the PM system despite how it could be used to serve evil, but not really wanting to argue. how do you ask questions without java or PM?

I tried other methods before posting to the forum. Additionally, the subject of the question or conversation that I have in mind shouldn't matter; In this case, the question I have in mind is offtopic(not the category).

For forum search sake: IRC is irc.furnet.org #e621 and the PM is 'Send Message' directly under the 'My Account' tab/heading.

Excuse my bluntness.

But how the hell do people miss this stuff?

There's a blindingly obvious 'IRC' tab in the bar, and 'My Messages' is even more obvious in the 'My Account' tab!

Seriously though, how do you people keep missing obvious things?

Because when it loads, a Java applet dialog appears and people freak out (I did the first time)

And sometimes even when you've updated java it doesn't like to load, and you keep having to download the thing over and over again, and that just seems fishy to me.
