Topic: [REJECTED] young characters BUR

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The bulk update request #512 has been rejected.

create implication shota (35928) -> male (2444020)
remove alias kemoshota (0) -> cub (0)
create implication kemololi (5) -> kemono (118086)
create implication kemololi (5) -> cub (0)

Reason: Discussion in topic #28143

Reminder to write the following BUR after this is (hopefully) approved:

imply kemoshota -> kemono
imply kemoshota -> shota (I'm not going to add this line anymore)
imply kemoshota -> cub

EDIT: The bulk update request #512 (forum #301690) has been rejected by @Millcore.

Update: I have removed the implication kemololi -> loli from the BUR due to discussion in topic #28143. In the supplement to this BUR, I will no longer implicate kemoshota -> shota.

I feel kemoshota and kemololi are a bit too specific of tags. A user could search for kemono loli, kemono shota, or kemono cub. Any false positives would be minimal. I also think leaving the loli->female implication is fine since it's specific to young females like shota is specific to young males. For young herm, maleherm, gynomorph, and andromorph characters in a sexual context, other tags could be used if desired.

I feel otherwise and have explained my reasoning in topic #28143.

kemono, loli and shota are extremely undertagged, as I said before in the aforementioned topic, and that is partially due to the alias kemoshota -> cub. In my opinion, the false positives have the potential to be quite disruptive. A post could be tagged kemono, shota/loli and cub at the same time and each tag could be referring to completely different characters.

I also think leaving the loli->female implication is fine since it's specific to young females like shota is specific to young males. For young herm, maleherm, gynomorph, and andromorph characters in a sexual context, other tags could be used if desired.

According to @Kurogi_FoxSIV in the aforementioned topic, an andromorph would be a shota and a gynomorph would be a loli.

In resume, I believe that the existence of the kemoshota and kemololi tags would be beneficial and not harmful.

I saw you mentioned that it's commonly used by Japanese artists, but that's not really a good reason; ポケモン化 (pokemon-ka; transformation into a pokemon) and transfur (transformation into a furry anthro or feral) are too, but that doesn't mean they make good tags.

Is it? I don't imagine very many people know what the terms kemoshota/kemololi imply as far as e6 tags go, is interested in that kind of content, and isn't adding kemono, shota, and loli when seeing they're being aliased to the generic cub tag. I think it's more that most people don't know what kemono really is or when it would apply, and most people don't like shota/loli content of any kind (human, furry, or otherwise) because of the sexual connotation, and among those that do, putting it under young is easier than remembering to tag sex-specific variations.

It could, but I suspect that'd be rare. I took a quick look through the first two pages of kemono loli, and it seems they all would fit under kemololi. I'm sure if I keep looking I'll find a few that don't, but it appears to be a very rare case.

I don't mean to say they'd be harmful. But they do seem overly-specific for tagging, which would cause them to be under-tagged, and thus not useful for searching or blacklisting. e6 don't have male_anthro and young_anthro tags because of how specific its getting, and those would be even more specific.

That would be a misrepresentation of my argument. I said that despite being specific, it is very common: it was being tagged often enough that moderators saw it fit to alias it to cub to avoid breaking the blacklist.

Take for example the artist manmosu_marimo. ~4800 posts, 64 pages.

  • manmosu_marimo -young 17 pages, but there are many posts here that should be tagged cub and/or loli/shota.

Most of this artists' posts should be tagged kemono shota/loli cub, but unfortunately this is not the case.

That is partially because both are undertagged.

By "harmful" I mean overspecific. Arguably gynomorph_penetrating_andromorph is more specific that kemoshota, but I am not against its existence because it is useful. Likewise, kemoshota is useful, and despite being specific it is very common. Again, one of the reasons why kemono is undertagged is because kemoshota is aliased to cub. If it were implicated to both instead, all the issues around it would be solved.

Most of this artists' posts should be tagged kemono shota/loli cub, but unfortunately this is not the case.

My contention is that that's more a result of people just tagging cub or young specifically, believing that's good enough, rather than because they're trying to tag kemololi and kemoshota and it's getting turned into cub without them realizing or fixing it. They generally either don't know the kemono, shota, or loli tags exist, or don't know if kemono should apply. As it is, the kemono tag alone seems to be rather under-tagged across the board, and if people don't know about or whether the kemono tag applies, kemololi and kemoshota will likely fair worse (as it is, I don't see it used by Japanese artists nearly as often as plain shota and loli with an implied furry/kemono context, and didn't know people wanted it to be a specific tag; I would see Japanese people sometimes write ケモショタ and such, but I see that more as Japanese really like to use contractions for common word pairs; メスケモ and オスケモ being other common ones for female furry and male furry respectively).

But that's just the way it looks to me. Moderators may have a better view of what people are actually trying to tag or expect to tag than I do.
