Should be an alias instead. Or perhaps alias zebra_domination -> zebra (so the tag autocomplete for someone typing in zebra won't give unrelated suggestions). We don't need species-specific domination/submissive tags, there would be way too many. Though even if it would be acceptable, zebra_domination is ambiguous... is the zebra doing the dominating, or being dominated? dominant_zebra would be clearer.

Curious. I would have done this as an alias, but perhaps I'm missing something. It would not surprise me.

Reason: Personally, I think the zebra_domination tag might be better if utilized as a Set instead. But if folks are fine with keeping this tag as an exception, then it would be a good idea for the tag to have these aliases/implications as well.

I agree with your personal thoughts. I doubt we need a specific tag exclusive to zebras dominating others/getting dominated. I think the other thread's failure was because of what the tag was being aliased to rather than there actually being an alias. I'd rather see all these terms be aliased to domination, with no implications involved, as we would any other species_domination tag:

alias zebra_domination -> domination
alias zebra_dom -> domination
alias zebradom -> domination

I agree that this tag should be done away with. Aliasing it to domination seems like an okay solution.
However, before doing so, all zebra_domination should receive male_domination / submissive_female tags (if applicable, depending on the genders of the participants and the exact situation), so that this content could still be searchable afterwards.

If it should be kept, which I disagree with, it should be changed to dominant_zebra. Literally every time I see an x_domination tag, I think "does that mean x is being dominated, or x is doing the dominating?". There's even a BUR for that already.

If you wanted to be nitpicky, we're not really voting, we're just voicing our opinions. The mods always have the final say.

With that said, I think this might've been hastily pushed through so that the domination -> dominant BUR could be accepted.
