Topic: Predatory BUR

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The bulk update request #2378 is pending approval.

create alias ambiguous_predator (31) -> ambiguous_pred (3228)
create alias intersex_predator (0) -> intersex_pred (1493)
create alias gynomorph_predator (0) -> gynomorph_pred (1211)
create alias andromorph_predator (0) -> andromorph_pred (22)

Reason: Pred is the shortened form of "Predator" - mostly used in vore contexts - every instance of *_predator is either a mistag or tag stuffing.

Currently, female_predator is at 229, vs 6k for female_pred, male_predator is at 23, vs male_pred at 7.4k.

Most of these *_predator tags are empty, but future proofing against intersex_predator and so on seems like a good idea.

Updated and removed male/female predator tags from the BUR, since they've now been dealt with

Does anyone know what

create alias female_predator -> female_pred # duplicate of has blocking transitive relationships, cannot be applied through bur

means? Is there an existing BUR attempting to create this alias?

Edit could this topic be blocking this BUR? topic #28171 or is it because of topic #28184 ? The rejection of the alias doesn't make much sense.

I believe it means that the tag being aliased away has its own alias/implications that would need to be removed before it can be aliased away.

...or there is an pending Alias request trying to do the reverse | topic #24347

It's very strange that BURs don't automatically expire and reject after say, a year, especially when there are no votes on them.

Votes are a relatively recent addition, and they weren't available at the time that alias request was made. They're not auto-rejected after a period of time because alias and implication requests can take a lot of time for someone to deal with, and a valid request shouldn't be rejected just because no one has been able to deal with it yet.
