Topic: [APPROVED] Tag alias: t-shirt_memes -> meme_clothing

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The tag alias #61387 t-shirt_memes -> meme_clothing has been approved.

Reason: The meme_clothing tag already exists. Having t-shirt_memes as well seems superfluous.

As a side note, the tag t-shirt_with_humorous_text_(meme) also appears to added to posts en mass, but I'm not sure how to address that one since not all posts are necessarily "meme clothing". Examples: post #143741, post #784750, post #92627.
I suppose technically it could be aliased to either text_on_shirt, text_on_clothing, or even to invalid_tag since it's quite subjective,

EDIT: The tag alias t-shirt_memes -> meme_clothing (forum #357921) has been approved by @gattonero2001.

Why nuke it? Nuking it will get rid of it initially, but nothing stops it from being used again, or it won't ensure a post is tagged with meme_clothing if it was only tagged t-shirt_memes. An alias will get rid of it just as well, ensure it can't be used again, and ensure the post is properly tagged with meme_clothing.

Though thinking about it, maybe it could be used on posts that only reference a meme that involved a t-shirt, but don't have meme_clothing and isn't necessarily a meme. I guess it would make sense in that context.

Just looking at the very first post as of today, what meme is being referenced here exactly?

Either one's fine with me.

Something needs to be done about t-shirt_with_humorous_text_(meme) too. That name is atrocious.
While I'm not a huge fan of calling every catchphrase that trends on reddit for 3 days a meme, we aren't really the meme police here.

Was there an upvote threshold that needed to be met?

Not really. BitWolfy just wanted to gauge user interest in which method to use. However, with a lot of stuff on the site constantly needing attention, this was kind of lost track of over time.
