It really feels chaotic when i disable all my tags and it just feels like i just hate almost everything this site has and that i own the blacklist ten times more than i wish to admit.

I think it varies a lot from person to person. I have only like 5-6 entries for stuff I never want to see and I just modify my search based on what I want. I never browse all posts.

My entire blacklist below:

I try to maintain as optimistic an approach to blacklisting as possible, because I'm paranoid about missing out on stuff. Generally speaking, I have to click on something and get annoyed by it at least a couple of dozen times before I'll consider amending my blacklist. If I find myself instinctively glancing left to the tags before even properly looking at the image, that's usually a sign it's time for an update.

Currently it's 23 lines long, and has been that way for a long time now. Maybe 5 of those lines show themselves on a regular basis.

I've still never blacklisted gore. Despite disliking it, it just doesn't come up often enough.

i got 210 entries in my blacklist

mostly just properties and serieses that i don't wanna see in a sexual context, either from back when i first signed up or still today, but it fluctuates as i grow more accustom to certain r34s and find new r34s i don't like (either for it's own sake or because i wanna avoid spoilers for that specific thing). plus a decent amount of the 210 is for specific posts, artists and fetishes

i mean it certainly not a bad thing to dislike most of what this site has to offer. for example i got incest, young, feral (-rating:safe), vore, gore -candy_gore, fart, scat, urine and macro on my blacklist. and while blacklisting those tags alone probably keeps me from seeing hundreds of thousands of posts on this site; those are posts that i can safely say i never want to see for as long as i live anyways

god, those are all so fucking valid (and based)

some of the general tags and characters probably share a tag that they imply, but no shame in being thorough. hell, there are a lot of foster's_home_for_imaginary_friends characters that aren't implicated to their own show (which i made a bur for, btw)

The first one i think is because there are certain posts from the artist that have the (･3･) wich is a super niche tag that probably does less good than i think but i always forget about it.
If it's about the "-h0rs3" part it means that only the posts with the (･3･) tag will get blacklisted unless they also have the "h0rs3" tag.

You misunderstand, your blacklist is literally perfectly functionally equivalent without those tags, regardless of how badly anything has been mistagged. It's not possible for even the most incompetent (or malicious) tagger to bypass the implications system.

To take the examples you gave, e621 guarantees that every post tagged "crocodylid" is also tagged "crocodilian" which is also on your blacklist. And as long as you keep "vein" blacklisted, you will never see a single post tagged "veiny_penis".

Same. I showed up like 2017 but had no account until 2020 since that's when the default blacklist became a thing. I actually sort of wonder whether I would have ever made an account if not for that. It's definitely better having one, though.

Mine is just the default blacklist plus id:3365750 (WARNING: really disturbing imagery) that I only have for the purpose of proving a point. I always have blacklist off since I can tolerate a lot of what other people may not desire, and also since I don't want to miss out on the wildness of other people's imagination.

Yeah I think I get where your coming from. I used to believe that I shouldn't fap to characters from properties that I'm not a fan of, while characters that are from properties I enjoy should only be fapped to when the porn portrays them "accurately" (or something like that). Porn with original characters always felt more "proper" anyway. I've since come to accept that, for me, it's much more about what's happening in the picture and how the characters enact or react to it, so I've become less concerned about what their prior appearances may have been in. Still there are some characters and properties (including Beastars and Made in Abyss) that I don't think I'll ever go looking for lewds of:
Lapfox Trax, One Piece, Star Wars (no, not even the anime bunny girl), Sabrina Amy and Tabitha from Sabrina Online, Transformers, Helluva Boss/Hazbin Hotel (except for Loona and the birds), Inuyasha, TMNT, and Bluey and Bingo from Bluey just to name all the one's that could be relevant to this site.

I have none. I can handle quite anything, genuinely. I wouldn't doubt that something out there will eventually give that good 'ol mental scarring story to pass on though. Even then, if I don't like looking at something I just stop looking at it. Rarely do I say something about it.

My blacklist is pretty short and I tend to turn it off and on a lot. It's just there so I don't see stuff that's a major turn off for me.

No, I find there is nothing anymore or very, VERY rarely something that "shocks" me on this website, or on the internet in general.
Most of the time you can tell what it is from the thumbnail anyway. And if not, then just do it like a big grownup, hop back and just keep browsing. + I would say i would have missed a lot of interesting stuff or artists if I had used the blacklist. Tags aren't free of errors.

But most of the time you already search certain terms/tags. So you sort out a lot of things already on your own.

Mine is pretty much just the common blacklist with about 5-6 tags more. Apart from things like scat or watersports, there's not much I'm grossed by.

I'm not all to happy that 'adult' is not a tag since I would have wanted the "toddler baby" line to have adult instead of genitals because in some contexts I don't care, but rape or imminent rape between a grown man and a baby that can't barely move and speak makes me uncomfortable.

I'm considering removing death from my blacklist because it makes no distinction between realistic deaths and cartoon deaths. One kills my boner, the other does not and with my toonophilia can sometimes harden it. Hopefully, blood, gore and snuff are enough to get rid of the crap I don't wanna see.

Yeah you could add "age_difference" or "young/toddler -rape", these will block all content with a minor and an adult (hopefully)

I have 35 tags blocked and only one of them is an artist. One specific tag that I am glad I found is hiding any image that has a score of -2 or less.

I think some people are just more tolerant of disgust then others. If you notice lots of people have, a large blacklist, or almost no blacklist.

It's well known that people who lean politically left tend to have a lower level of disgust, be more tolerant of ambiguity, uncertainty, and are more likely to engage in unusual experiences.
While people on the right, tend to lean the other way, stronger disgust reaction, less tolerant, more likely to interpret uncertainty as a threat, less likely to engage in unusual experiences.

This of course isn't true for everyone, and likely not true for most of us on this site, after all where all degenerates here. Would be interesting to see if there's any collation tho.

I for one, am the opposite of what the data predicts, I consider my self right leaning, but am extremely open with low levels of disgust.
I don't use the black list, instead I just shift through the stuff I don't care for till I find what I like.
Seeing stuff I dislike or disagree with doesn't bother me, I just move on. Hell sometime I even check it out and find new kinks cause of it.

In truth tho I'm not a true Conservative, I'm Right-Libertarian with some left and right wing views. Tho for the sake of simplicity I'd Lump me in the right wing group.

I just looked and I have 691 blacklisted tags and artists, lol. I come here to look at things I think are hot so if something isn't doing it for me, even a little bit, into the blacklist it goes. There's a couple of tags I've taken on and off of my blacklist at certain points as my tastes change but that's pretty rare, most things on my blacklist I sure as hell don't ever want to see. A lot of Pokemon too, a side effect of me liking too many characters from that franchise to just blacklist the series tag, stuff like that.

Mine is at 130 blacklisted words, I had to get fancy with its formatting in order to be able to find edit and add later down the road. lol

You'll see in the blacklist that not only have I blanked out a few of them because people like to question you for not having something on your blacklist, so I leave it to the imagination there, and anything that has double slash in front of it is excluded, usually because I decided it was causing too much content to disappear but I might want to re-enable it later.

I really would like that to take flash-postings completely away, as they disrupt even the working of A and D keys to navigate, even when blacklist-censored.

There's just a bit too big flush of MLP – I frequently inactivate my blacklist when doing tagging projects, tho.
