Topic: I have a question regarding a certain series of tags

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

in terms of the genders, I have a question about the non-standard variety of male and female, specifically the distinction between otherwise female characters with male genitalia

I'm talking specifically about Herm and dickgirl.

I'm asking: what's the difference? should they be two different tags? should they be better distinguished?

To my knowledge:

  • "herm" refers to having all parts of both the male and female genitalia: penis, balls, breasts, and vagina
  • "dickgirl" refers to having all parts of the female genitalia, but only one part of the male: breasts, vagina, and penis

However, when I look at the searches for them, I see no distinctive difference between them, only what the tagging party decided to put...

so what is the difference? or should they be aliases of each other?

PS I almost included "intersex" in this discussion, but intersex also refers to "cuntboys" which is a male character whose pelvic genitalia is that of a female along with others I might not know about

Dickgirl is breasts, penis, and not vagina. (It's a little more complicated, especially when it comes to feral characters, but let's not bother with it now.)

Intersex is umbrella tag for all non-standard sexes like cuntboy, dickgirl or herm.

This is relevant.

What the others said, the difference is the existence (in the picture) of the vagina, if a otherwise female character owns both genitals they are a herm for our purposes and if they only have a penis they are a dickgirl for tagging.

Also possible interest to you may be that you can access the wiki for each tag by clicking the little Question mark besides the tag, most tags have a good explanation of how the tag is to be used on the site.

Since we're on the topic, there's something that I've been wondering about. Do they have to be located in the genital area?

What I mean is... What's the proper gender tag for this:
Just ambiguous_gender, despite it being covered in genitals?

I'd tag it a herm since it has both, and both are visible. There's no reason to assume they don't use both just because it's strangely located. I wouldn't go with ambiguous_gender though because it doesn't strike me as being very ambiguous, just unusually placed.

Thanks. That's what I was thinking.
...I've been trying to tag missing genders and orientations, but images such as that (and various dicknipples etc.) are making it difficult.

Not a problem. And that sounds like a good project, filling in some of the basics. It's easy for that to get overlooked once they've been on the site for awhile, people assume it's sure to have it tagged by now. But the reality is that it's still hit and miss. So *high fives* and best of luck on that. It sounds like a good idea.
