  • "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you."

The fellow who piloted that prototype mech in Halo Legends wasn't a Spartan ether. He was just a run-of-the-mill marine who disobeyed orders in order to pilot it and thus buy time for the evacuation of civilians and his fellow Marines. In other words, he was a hero. Halo be all about them heros.

  • This is not that mech from Halo Legends, however. That one and this one are shaped differently and colored differently. This looks more like a crossover between Halo and 40k.
I mean the little scrap of parchment/paper/whatever looks like an emblem or a list of sorts that Space Marines don on their armor. Either way, Chief or not, a Spartan in power armor? That's epic in my book.

  • Makes me snicker how many go Halo just because I chose British army forest green and snapped up a modified ODST helmet, though from the front the stretch does make it look like the standard Halo helm, needs a sideshot image me thinks.

Sorry, but the person who own this art said that helmet is taken from HALO and said nothing about Warhammer 40k.

    It worked for Predator.

His name was ghost, and he wasn't a spartan, he was an ODST. and that armor is similar, but it's not the experimental exoskeleton that ghost piloted. In fact, it wasn't even related to the mjolnir project, but more likelly a hopeful candidate to counteract the covenant hunters.

  • No,Ghost was a UNSC Marine. He was from the demolition squad, leader of the demo platoon. He's just wants to redeem for what's he's done for his soldiers. He wants to become "Human".

XD that does look like the blessing ribbons that a chancellor would put on the marines before they went into battle.

  • The fact that people keep trying to fuse Halo with Warhammer saddens me greatly, nevermind the fact that the warhammer universe doesn't "need" spartans with the space marines running around, or that the UNSC/Spartan program would be slaughtered by Chaos, or Emperor help them, the Tyranids.

Lets see, legions upon legions of horrors equal to or greater in power then them, including Soul Stealing machine men aka Necrons, World eating monsters who'll convert the entire planet into biomass, Orkz who can come back from a single spore, regularly survive falls from orbit, can fight even when DEAD {Hello mr dreadnaught!} regularly go toe to toe with far worse then attack jets, regularly fighting through entire armies ten times the size of covies is standard routine, as is taking on massive ships with just a small handful of soldiers. Oh and their standard gun is a 40MM depleted uranium high explosive "Bolt" weapon called a bolter, and regularly blow up planets with their own weapons, not scorch them like the pansy covenent, blow them up. And that's just the regular marines, not the terminators or Primarchs. Sorry, what were you saying? Spartans lose.

What about the Imperial Guard? They do most of the same fights, but they are just regular men, such as the Regiments at Cadia defending Terra from The Eye of Terror? Gotta give them some credit...

To be fair to the Cadians, warhammer lore paints them as basically space marines without all the implants and armor.

  • Why is this tagged with a bunch of species? While the hands and feet have claws that look like they could belong to other species, they are not actually showing those species. Is there an actual drake or fox present in this image somewhere that I'm not seeing?
Okay, looked through the tags, it seems that this is a character that has been shown out of the armor. The problem is that they weren't tagged on this one, for whatever reason. Fixing that.

"Your Grandmother invites you over for tea, when your startled to see she hands you a pistol and tells you to kill another vault member. How do you respond"
A: throw your tea in her face.
B: bargain your possessions for the vault dwellers life.
    C: shoot your Grandmother.
D: ask for a minigun, after all you wouldn't want to miss.

B! ALWAYS B! .... now what about the last question hhmm? which is the right answer?

    A: The overseer.
    B: The overseer.
    C: The overseer.
    D: The overseer.

And on top of all that! Let's not forget the Grey Knights, who even among the chapters of Adeptas Astartes as so elite that every one of them could kill Chief without drawing their blade/bolter. Because they have abilities lime that.

He may be badass, but he's not invincible. No one is.

    The "non_furry" tag trumps it.

The character is a furry... just because you cannot prove it in this image dose not change that even the original post proves it. it is just E621's stupid tagging system for stuff like this.

Multiple laser sights actually work better than one. They help the mind determine the center faster compared to one dot.

  • There is 37 thousand years of technological development that the Halo universe doesn't have if you decide to look over the subjectively sparse dark days of scientific advancement that 40K had in many civilizations including the time to adapt technology to the new and ever changing environment.
Which, if you think about it, is very similar to what we get in Halo but much earlier in relative history. The flood being a very cool mixture of the orks and the Weird alien things.
Your evangelical laboring over one franchise over another doesn't allow you to see the forest for its trees. Both universes and the humans within have insane challenges facing them and their respective icons are very similar. It's a no brainer to compare genetically modified humans in different science fiction material.
Because the situations and story telling residing in each give the characters relatability and awe in their achievements.
Fucking hell, it's the how not the what.
Never mind warhammer has magic, there is a lot more things you can do if you could just fight while still dead which one universe doesn't have the luxury, not because their training doesnt cover it, it's because its physically impossible. One will always be slightly better than the other because they have these insane advantages wherein the Halo human universe doesn't have a long history nor does it have magic. It's like comparing a spearman to a rifle and saying the spearman wasnt brave for fighting other spearman or cannon. Its nonsense.
