Monster Mind 1.02 release notes:

This new release incorporates many, many bugfixes and suggestions which I have received over the past week. I would like to take a time to thank all of my fans who have taken on a role as unappreciated, uncredited beta testers. I am sorry for all of the bugs in my game. I have worked hard to fix them so hopefully the newer version of the game is an improvement.

  • Fixed crashes related to too many chests opening simultaneously
  • Added new "Low Detail" mode. By default, MonsterMind consumes about 600m of RAM and a lot of CPU power. This lets you turn down the visual detail, so it will only require about 250m of RAM and significantly less CPU power. It does this by reducing the number of gems, critters, and Pokemon on screen at a time.
  • Added new "Safe For Work" mode. This removes all Pokemon windows from the game, as well as some edge cases where genitals were visible in chat windows. There are still naughty items and dialog, so please verify your boss's position regarding giant dildos and sexual conversations before drawing assumptions.
  • Addressed a minor health issue where puzzle bugs would collapse. While this health issue is unavoidable, it has been modified to be less distressing and will no longer break minigames.
  • Minor dialog improvements. Most notably, Heracross will now tell players what the Pokemon meters mean.
  • Minor cosmetic fixes
  • About 30 different bugfixes related to minigame edge cases, specific Pokemon interactions, crashes when entering the den.

  • I don't understand anything about how this puzzle system works. Like, at all. I thought I did, but then as it progesses what i thought was correct suddenly is not. Just plain frustrating. I just don't get the rules of the puzzle i guess.

  • Never played the first version, but I had and will have a ton of fun with this. The personalities are very cute and enjoyable to interact with, even smug little abra. The noises and squirming while fingering is just...yes~. I approve wholeheartedly.

I did manage to crash it once. I was getting frustrated on a 4-peg (gitgudscrub) and pulled a bug out quickly and set it aside, for some reason the box closed again, and I didn't notice, dragging another bug over midway through the "checking the answer" portion and the game completely froze and I had to refresh the page.

I also noticed that after I downloaded it if I play it via Irfan View 4.5-Version x64, my save is never...saved. And going to the options screen in any way will delete my save, once I hit back I have to start over as it places me back in the first conversation with Groov. Minor inconvience, probably a known problem, but just calling attention to it.

All in all I love it, if I could ask for one feature, it'd be the option to have it check my answer through ALL the boxes, so I can see if I have multiple errors along the way when the puzzle is just going a country mile over my head and frustrating me to no end. Abra is a good help, but having that extra option to help my frustrated, stuck guesswork would be grand.
And a gallery, naturally, because fingering the girls/boys freely would be a highlight~.

  • One last thing to add! Been playing it a bit more, and I'm starting to notice I just don't understand the fingering them minigame in regards to giving them a bigger orgasm. I know the floating hearts and the like all mean something, but as for what they mean...it's just not clear enough for me to figure out. A tutorial on correctly pleasuring the pokes would be very helpful, or at least on what all parts of it mean, meters, somethin'.

How? This kind of puzzles are the oldest ones in the book! just trial and error to "deduce" the solutions. To the honest, I was pretty bored by the start of the game (REAL gameplay, of course, the "action" part is perfect), until I got my ass kicked by abra's...

  • I love doing puzzle games and generally i'm not too bad at them, but for some god awful reason i can't wrap my head around 4 peg and 5 peg. I've never felt more retarded in my life, and it's made worse by the fact that they're incredibly simple puzzles.

  • Found a bug/typo during one of sandslash's intro sex intros. I have the game on female-only mode and sandslash says "Ah yeah. Finally! Sandslash is getting HIMself some one on one glove time. A little glove love~"

That said this game is way too addicting. I was planning on going to sleep about 4 hours ago

  • This game is just something else.
It's just got so much dialogue and small things like climaxing being different depending on how you treat the character.
Hours haven't been lost, they've been enjoyed.

  • I woke up at 8 am this morning and found this game. It’s now 4 hrs later and 12.
I absolutely LOVE this game! Everything about it is awesome!
The only thing is I haven’t figured out how to use items like dildos and anal beads that you buy from the shop.

  • Oh my God this game is PERFECTION!
I found it late at night and started playing and really enjoying it. To the point that I didn't want to go to bed. But had to anyways. I woke up this morning actually feeling excited to play it more. I just spend 4 straight hours moving adorable little bugs and having some good fun with these cute Pokemon. This is everything I want in one package!

One question though, what does the Pokemon meters mean? I imported my save and I haven't received that dialogue...

  • So when Lucario shows up and replaces the character you wanted to play with, is there any way to send him away? Quitting and trying a different puzzle doesn't work, because he just does it again.

  • Is this game getting updates? In that case, can I request some sort of auto fill for the hologram system on the 4 and 5 peg puzzles? Just something that puts one of each color on a pad so I don't have to take time dragging them around myself.

Trial and Error isn't quite right. It plays similarly to a simple version of Sudoku where you use information given about what is or is not possible in order to determine which pegs are what.

Mastermind, which is what this is similar to, is trial and error because you choose which pegs to place in order to find the answer to the puzzle. This is like looking at someone else's mastermind board and then finding the solution based on the clues they've laid out for you.

The higher the bar, the more "into it" the pokemon will be when it's time for sex. Sometimes this means the mon will have a special request for you that session (for example, rhyhorn once asked me to rub a knot out of her arm), but not always. Regardless, heracross will pay you more for the tape of a pokemon with a filled bar. Keep in mind, though, that if a pokemon with a full bar is on the easiest difficulty, it may still be more profitable to go for a higher difficulty, since the easier puzzles pay less

  • This game is great... There's nothing more to say of it. I SUCK at Mastermind, but this game is training me to be better at it and it provides so many other things.

The progression is great, learning what pokemons like and want is great, buying stuff and using it is great (although a little confusing at first).

But most of all, all the various wacky and fun conversations are great, you could fill a game up without the puzzles and just the constant talking and it would still be great.

    great great great

  • 1 Heart = One colour is both in the solution AND in the right place.
2 Hearts = Two colours are both in the solution AND in the right place.
    Etc.

1 Dot = One colour is in the solution BUT in the wrong place.
2 Dots = Two Colours are in the solution BUT in the wrong place.
    Etc.

It's easier to start with the lines which give you the most information.
E.g. If you have two hearts you know two of the colours are in the combination and in the right place. Therefore, you can select two of the bugs in the combination, and fill these out in every other sequence, if the sequences work (I.e. It says 1 heart, 1 dot, and your sequence would fulfil this criteria) you've chosen the correct two bugs to put into your answer.
If you're wrong, change the bugs and try again.

It's just creating a theory and then making comparissons with this theory (in the event you don't want to look at a huge amount of things simultaneously).

    Also, sod smeargle.

  • 7-peg puzzles seem easier than 5-peg, since 7-peg ones have the extra rule of no adjacent pegs of the same color.

5-peg puzzles have 3125 or 5*5*5*5*5 possible combinations. Do 7-peg puzzles have fewer, then? I have no clue how to figure out the answer. It couldn't be the same formula since they're in a different configuration and have the extra rule.

1: How do you 'romance' Grimer? Rubbing her doesn't seem to do anything.

    2. in the intro, tell grovyle you've met before and then when prompted choose the option to input a password

    1. female Grimer has a secret spot inside her chest. This is found by feeling around until !!! shows up over your hand.male Grimer has an obvious nub

    2. passwords are entered by selecting the correct dialogue options in the tutorial then entering your password. (you can start a new file by selecting an empty spot and closing them menu.)

    i.e.
1st two dialogues don't matter, then "actually we've met before" next choose, "my name is" (I don't think it matters what you type here) afterwards "my password is..." should appear.

It determines the gender of the Pokemon. They're all male if you pick boys, female if girls, and a mix if you prefer either. I'm not sure if it's random or predetermined in the last instance.

There's an item you can buy to swap their gender so the choice isn't final.

Your initial comment wasn't very helpful either. All you really said was "I don't get it", to which the only real answer is "play the tutorials that explain it".

Had you been more specific about what confused you, I'd bet an answer would be more forthcoming from folks.

Lucario appeared for me replacing Grovyle. It happened the second or third time I did a Grovyle puzzle. After that, he'll start appearing on his own.

  • I'm at 94.1%. A lot of people on FA have said they're stuck at 97.1% but I can't even get that far. Do you have to buy the male/female software? I saw a few people that said you don't but I'm not sure now. I didn't buy the magnetic toy because I don't /want/ Magnezone around more but it added about 3%, so meh.

Can you really get Kecleon on camera? I got Smeargle off once but I think it's predetermined whether he's horny enough to set him off or whether he only wants petting. I've been ignoring him for a few dozen puzzles and his meter rises so slowly despite having the incense, I think I'm going to have to save a password before I play with him once it's high enough again in case I do it wrong.

Took me way too long to figure out you can finger Lucario's sheath, gotta turn the incense down or he pops out of it after like, two tickles.

Yep, I can relate. 3-peg is always easy, and 4 and 5 aren't usually difficult either... but occasionally I get a 4-peg puzzle that doesn't seem solvable. And Abra has no useful hints to give.

I wish there were an "I give up, just show me the solution"-option, so I could figure out what I'm overlooking. :P

  • So how the hell is the bonus stage supposed to work, I have as many possible bugs pulling the chest as far as they can to my side and also have them flood into the tent, yet they somehow always fail to pull the chest despite having had a hefty head start and more bugs at the end of a round.

There is. If you click the download button, you can get the swf file. Then you can create an html file in the same folder with this text:

I saved my passwords because I didn't expect it to save my progress, but it does. I have NO clue where it's storing that. I save passwords now and again anyway.

Male Sandslash can lose the glove in his rear too. His reaction is hilarious, as well as Abra's complaint about you using a mouse pointer. I have also heard he'll eat the glove if you were with Grimer before him but I've never been able to make that happen.

You don't need the keys missing to input a password. I have a feeling argon removed it to prevent double entendre. 1 is removed due to i, 2 is removed due to z, and so on. You should be able to input the password with the keys it give you.

The mystery box gag isn't really funny. I spent the whole game trying not to offend anyone but I'm considering picking the mean responses to Heracross now. He's so cute tho'...

Smeargle's arousal meter is still almost at zero. Nobody's giving a straight answer whether Kecleon will join in but there's a lot of hints that it's possible.

This isn't QUITE accurate. The hearts/dots correspond to specific pegs, not colors in general. So if you have a hint with two reds in it and there's two hearts, it could be that there are two red pegs (both in the correct spots) and none of the other pegs in that hint are in the solution, or it could be that there is one red peg in the right spot, the redundant red peg in a wrong spot (which doesn't count since there's only one red peg in the solution), and some other color peg claimed the other heart.
It would be more accurate to say that a heart corresponds to a peg that is the correct color and in the correct place, and has priority over displaying a dot if there's redundancy.

Muk isn't in the game, I don't think. Grimer is, though. Grimer is hiding behind the shadow of another pokemon. As for lucario, after the initial surprise swap they show up rarely as if a normal pokemon, and you can buy a stack of pizza coupons to make them appear as often as a regular pokemon

Agreed. It's a pretty frustrating design to have 2 other Pokemon get first and second while my correct answer is balancing.

Argon has said the system is set up so the other pokemon have a balance delay too, it's just that Abra and one other are intentionally designed to be extremely fast. I've actually beaten Abra once but I think it was a fluke. The hard ones will offer to let you play without them, though I don't know if that happens before you finish the story part of the game, since Abra's a real jerk before that.

i trying to finish alone the game, i'm at 95% but how can i unlock the last items and characters? (thefood, trophy, and keckelon)? i have only to solve more puzzle? more harder puzzle? win game bonus? (i Always skip its)

You have to buy the gender swap software, you don't have to use it. Letting Grimer eat the green gel dildo may be part of the percentage. I'm not sure if fingering Sandslash until he loses the glove in his rear is part of it (use the red dildo first without setting him off to make it easier). Kecleon is not part of 100%. I have yet to see a definitive answer whether it's possible. The fact that he DOES have a lounging animation makes me suspect he is. I already made Smeargle paint the ceiling once (it's VERY difficult) and he made a few comments about joining in but wouldn't actually do it. Smeargle's arousal meter has only grown to about 1/6th of the bar after 35 puzzles.

Teasing them until they go off so hard their little brains crash is hilarious. I'm still not sure how to do it ALL the time but I'm getting better at it. Lucario's the easiest (Buizel goes off too easy and it doesn't 'count' if you edge him). Catch him in the back room after playing with him once and there's about 2-3 more rounds of dialogue if you keep forcing him to spooge his brains out. }:3

  • Oh dammit. I made a wrong solution on accident and grabbed the critter out before the hint question occurred. Now my game is frozen on a slightly darkened screen. Rip my last 2 hours of progress T__T

  • Some people are just better at certain games than others.

I've done moderately OK with this one. I sucked at Undertale so badly that the Temmie Armor was already affordable by the time I got there. I can't play bullet hell games worth crap.

Either this is fucked, or I'm just too fucking stupid to get it. Anything past the first kind of puzzle is too hard for some few frame animations. I'm here for pokemon porn, not High IQ society entrance test.

Im here to be accepted into a High IQ society and for porn so its a win-win for me

  • I thought I'd entered my password incorrectly, because it said I'd solved over 300 puzzles. But there's 10 Pokemon, and you have to solve three puzzles to "play" with a Pokemon, and I've played with each Pokemon at least five times (and for certain Pokemon, way way more than five times), so maybe it was right. Maybe I should stop playing this game now.

Still stuck at 97.1% completion though.

  • Mastermind is half pattern recognition and half matrix logic. I was doing very poorly on the 4 and 5 peg puzzles at the outset, because I had never sat down and learned the "rules" of Mastermind... not the mechanics, I had a fair grasp of that, but you also need to learn what the clues are telling you beyond "X bugs out of place".

For example, you're playing 3 peg and you get a clue that has only one heart. That means that one of those bugs is in the correct position, and A) Any bugs of any other color AREN'T IN THE SOLUTION AT ALL, and B) If there's more than one bug of the same (correct) color, then if one's in the solution, it is the *only* bug of that color in the solution. Similarly, if there is a clue with just dots, say a clue that had Green-Blue-Red and one dot, that means that bug 1 *can't* be green, bug 2 *can't* be blue, and bug 3 *can't* be red, but that either bug 1 is blue or red, bug 2 is green or red, or bug 3 is green or blue. You can then take this information to other clues and collaborate to gain even more information.

So, examples again. If your first clue with 1 heart is Green-Blue-Green, and your second clue with one dot is aforementioned Green-Blue-Red, that means that in your first clue, the first 2 bugs can't be correct (because they match with the dot clue, so either of those bugs being correct would break the rule of the second clue), which means in turn that your third bug *has* to be green, which means in turn that there are *no* blue or red bugs in the solution at all, and because there's a second green bug in the 1 heart clue, that means that there can't be any other green bugs in the puzzle either (Otherwise that second green bug in clue 1 would create a dot or a heart as part of it's clue)

In a practical example, I fired up the game on 3-peg and got a puzzle like so:

    Clue 1: Red-Orange-Orange, 1H
    Clue 2: Purple-Orange-Purple, 1H 1D
    Clue 3: Purple-Orange-Red, 2D

So the first thing I do is look for matches between Clue 3 and the other clues. The orange bug in position 2 in Clue 1 can't be correct, so I click on it to mark it with an "x" to remind myself of that. Same is true of the purple and orange bugs in positions 1 and 2 of clue 3. Aha, that means that the bug in the correct position in clue 3 *must* be the purple bug in position 3. I put that bug into place.

Next, the orange bug in position 3 of clue 1 isn't right, because it has to be purple, and we've previously eliminated position 2 due to clue 3. That means peg 1 is red, and furthermore means that there are no orange bugs in the puzzle. I place a red bug in position 1 and review clue 2.

In clue 2, we have our heart already accounted for, that's the purple bug in position 3. There's already a red bug in position 1, *and* we've eliminated Orange from the puzzle, so the dot can't be the orange bug; it has to be the purple one. The only place left for it to go is in position 2. Quickly, I check my work: In clue 1, we have a red bug in position 1 and no orange bugs in the puzzle, check. In Clue 2, we have one purple bug in the wrong position, and one purple bug in the correct position, check. In clue 3, we have one red bug in the wrong position and one purple bug in the correct position.

So, the solution to this puzzle is Red-Purple-Purple.

The reasoning gets more complex in the 4 and 5 peg puzzles, but the basics remain the same, and the sooner you start looking for the patterns I've identified here, the sooner you'll start seeing them as you glance over the puzzle.

The game's note taking system is pretty primitive, it might help you to have out pen and paper to write out rules, especially for 5 peg puzzles, which will frequently require guess and testing. The basic game itself, however, doesn't require any huge manner of intelligence, it just requires pattern recognition, patience, and organized thought.

  • The AI for the bug balancing game is so OP, you need to get it right on the first guess or you instantly lose

It's extra bullshit because the scales take their sweet time to finalize the answer

  • I don't think I have read anyone saying this, but for the pegs, there is a small circle near the pokemon, and you can put the creatures there to keep track of where goes what, or better, what doesn't go where. Doing that makes the puzzle almost trivial, making the solution obvious, or lowering trial and error to 3 or less options.

  • Despite all the clues and marking options, this puzzle game is truly atrociously presented. Other than that, the art and personalities and writing are amazing
