ambus and mindes (nintendo and etc) created by grimart
Description

You're walking in the woods.
There's no one around and your phone is dead.
Out of the corner of your eye, you spot him.

  • The last panel is really looking great. Mindes is probably pissed at Ambus for avoiding him. I'm really freaking curious what they will have to say to each other. Ambus better have a good fucking explanation...

  • Can’t they settle this over a game of smash?

Also it’s interesting that the same line (“people like us, who play games all day...) appears both here and in the alternate. Probably a coincidence in the storytelling but still pretty neat—even without the whole ‘shiny Hunter’ bent Ambus makes the same excuses... he’s helplessly in love with this fool.

Bad experiences? This guy has kidnapped kids, and tortures people, you need to get out of there asap.

Please take a closer look at the last couple pages. Nowhere does it ever state that Mindes kidnapped or tortured any of the pokemon. We still don't know what "shines collected" means. In Mindes' list of "shines collected" none that were listed were the pokemon we saw being abused in the following panels. Those were pictures uploaded by other users of that website.

  • I'd be telling him to call it off too. Guy's proven to be unacceptably troublesome, even if, for all I know, he isn't seriously associated with that site and is just a quirky person. His appearance here... the photos... the unguarded information... He's a hazard.

Along with that, there's the fact that Ambus went through Mindes's phone twice, both times occurring after intimacy, in which there is basically no guard. It may not have had any sort of security, but it's still rude to go through someone else's things no matter how curious you are, especially if they belong to a loved one.

Relationships can't function without mutual trust, and it seems they're not compatible.

    the photos...

Why doesn't anybody get this right? Those photos are NOT from Mindes. Those are photos from other users of that website.
We still don't know if Mindes has done anything abusive to the shines he "collected". Though, it is natural to be suspicious of him, when he is a member of such a website...

  • He used the word "harvested".

You're right that we don't exactly what he's done to them, but "harvested" is pretty extreme terminology contextually. Saying "collected" instead completely changes the dynamic of Ambus stumbling onto his profile.

Those aren't the photos I'm talking about. I mean the ones from even earlier.

Don't be so quick to judge, there's no proof that he was the one who did that. also we don't know if the pokemon shown were really kids. just cuz they are in their first stage of evolution, doesn't mean that they are children (like with ash's pikachu in the animated series) the only for-sure way to know if a pokemon is a juvenile is if it is in it's juvenile stage (for example, Pichu is the juvenile stage of Pikachu).

In universe that Zorua was definitely considered a child. The alt version of that page is canon according to the artist, and he's said so in some other posts floating around.
