Ok so this is persona 5 situation people. This isn't the end but this is the point where the flashback ends. If you didn't notice most of the story was told like one by ambus himself.

They'll probobly get together again but only after a lot of time (and dramma).

No offense here, but if you loved the person your going out with, why wouldn't you at least tell them these things BEFORE they became this complicated.

Mindes is screwed up, too inexperienced and probobly doesn't have and idea in what world he lives in. That is his flaw that Ambus needs to fix. (later at least)

This kind of mindset is more common than one might think. I, myself have been in Ambus' shoes and let me tell ya, it's way more confusing IRL.

Honestly, even though I can understand that Mindes has issues, that still doesn't make me want these two to get back together - it just seems like a relationship that seems happy on the outside while internally it festers and rots. I'd actually prefer to see Ambus get together with a nice Muk, he just doesn't have a strong enough will to help Mindes without getting himself hurt.

The fact that he so easily rationalizes away the child porn, kidnapping and rape going on at his favorite website as 'possibly fictional' is evidence of that, and his instant flare-up at Ambus being leery at that? Yeah, there's no way these two could continue in a stable relationship.

Given the behavior, and clear body language from previous encounters with him, Mindes WAS lying in his other confrontations with Ambus.
I stand by my statement, Mindes does not truly care about Ambus' well-being.

And Mindes' "flip out" is more reminiscent of someone who got caught.

Does make a person a sociopath. It is a clear resignation that they don't care if someone's getting abused, as long as they're not the one doing it doesn't matter. While I hate the attitude Mindes takes, he raises an interesting argument. He calls it kink shaming but it seems like he's way past that into compulsion or outright delusion. It's fascinating to me that we are so inculcated into this (at least partially) faith based system of deserved retribution that we have no sympathy or understanding for the personal ramifications of being attracted to something immoral. No wonder he's as fucked up as he is, he didn't choose his attractions but always seems to be the one on the hook. Do sites exist in this world for shiny-philes that use actors and are non-harm? How about support groups? Does Ambus think he is so terrible that he would do that to any and everyone? Even worse, does he think the only answer is prison or isolation? He is only being blamed for failing to realize what it means to hate one's own feelings to the point where you can NEVER let it slip that you have them lest you lose all connection to social order and begin the inevitable spiral down to suicide...a touchy situation indeed...
